Roads closed on the feast of the Black Nazarene

Some of the main roads will be closed in the celebration of the religious tradition in Quiapo church this Wednesday, January 9, 2019. It is said that the feast caught a lot of attention from different parts of the country and of the world that either strengthened people's faith or shocked them.
Citizens have raised concerns on the road safety of the people joining the celebration and the motorists who just wish to pass by the area to complete their errands. Authorities assured the public that they're doing their best to make it as orderly and as peaceful as possible.
Police posts have been strategically located as well as emergency stations where the medical volunteers are on standby. PNP is on full alert and more officers will be visible all throughout the event to ensure the safety and security of everyone.
Here's a list of the roads that will be closed on the day of the feast.
January 9, 2019 from 12 midnight
-MacArthur Bridge, Jones Bridge, Quezon Bridge
-Roxas Blvd. from Katigbak Drive to T.M. Kalaw Street
-Both lanes of Quezon Blvd from A. Mendoza/ Fugoso Street and Espana Avenue/P.Campa Street (Southbound), and Taft Avenue/Ayala Boulevard(northbound)
Alternate Routes
-Vehicles coming from Q.C taking Espana Avenue shall turn right to P.Campa street, then turn left to A.Mendoza street, then turn right to Fugoso st. then turn right to CM Recto Avenue or left to Nicanor street to point of destination.
-Vehicles coming form Legarda steet shall turn right to CM Recto Avenue or turn left to Mendiola street to their point of destination.
-Vehicles coming from Caloocan City using Rizal Avenue shall turn right to Fugoso street or CM Recto AVenue to point of destination.
-Heavy vehicles/Cargo trucks shall take Pres. Quirino Avenue to Nagtahan via AH Lacson Avenue to Capulong street.
-All buses taking Taft Avenue northbound shall turn right to Ayala Ave. to point of destination
-Vehicles from Reina Regente street utilizing southbound lane shall turn right to San Fernando street, or make U-turn at Plaza Ruiz to pont of destination.
-Light vehicles intending to utilize the stretch of Bonifacio Drive and Roxas Blvd southbound shall turn around to Anda Circle going to Deloan or Moriones to point of destination.
For everyone, make sure to take note of the re-routing directions or better yet stay away from this area if you don't have any intentions joining the procession or any important appointments. Heavy traffic is expected as the celebration will last for 24 hours.
